1966 Airline Resoglass JB Hutto

Hello everyone and welcome to my new blog! I will be posting articles about interesting guitars that come into my shop as well as informative instructional details on guitar repairs and setups that I hope you’ll find helpful. Pictured here is a 1966 Airline Resoglass that came in for a setup recently. It’s also known as the “JB Hutto" Model and was sold by Montgomery Wards from 1964 to 1968.

The guitar was named after the blues musician J.B. Hutto who made the guitar more popular by appearing with it on his album cover “Slidewinder” in 1972. In more resent years this model was the guitar of choice for Jack White in the White Stripes. It was a good alternative as a starter guitar back in the day and and a valuable collectors item today.
