I am a songwriter and I'm in the process of recording an album with my band, Little Buffalo. I brought Mark my 1964 Gretsch Tennesean which he brought back to life, plus a tele and strat copy that I'm using for the sessions which he turned into great sounding, very playable instruments. I've been at a loss since my former guitar tech switched careers, so finding Mark is a true blessing! He's at the top of his game and super friendly and reasonable, to boot. I learn something new about guitars every time I work with him. I'll be taking my acoustics to him, as well.

This was the first time getting a guitar set up. I've been playing off and on for a while and bought an acoustic electric a couple of years ago. I recently decided to start playing again so I decided to finally spend a little money on getting it set up right. I'm so glad I did! My guitar was playing ok before but now the guitar is so easy to play and sounds amazing! Not only is Mark very knowledgeable and has a lot of experience, he's a really nice guy. Mark explained everything he was going to do (lower the action, adjust the truss rod, put on thinner strings, polish the fretboard) and didn't pressure me into anything. He was able to have it ready for me the next day. Now I want to play my guitar more. Wish I did this a lot sooner. Thanks Mark!

Wiring is super clean and setup is great, excellent job on frets and fretboard. Nice guy too! Would recommend him to anyone.

Mark worked on a couple of guitars, Gibson SG and Ibanez Bass. We could not be happier with his service and quick turnaround. Guitars are playing fanatstic! Really happy with his service and will definitely go back for all guitar tech needs.

My tele has never played so good and my Gibson Dove feels like a brand new guitar again. He does a great fretwork and i would recomend him to any of my guitar pickin buds. Look forward to dropping off some more of my guitars with Nuke.

Having never messed with the mechanics of my guitar, I didn't want to run the risk of damaging it by tweaking the truss rod with crossed fingers, so I needed a shop that could turn this around for me same-day. He returned my email first thing this morning and arranged to meet me as early as he could. I showed up and he fixed the issues straight away while I waited, going the extra mile to ensure that the intonation had remained true after his fix and showing me a thing or two I didn't know about keeping my guitar in fighting shape. Nuke is a real cool cat who oozes guitar knowledge, is super friendly, and will even tell some war stories as he tinkers. I've found my stop for Bay Area guitar maintenance and repair. Thanks man!

I found Mark on yelp (and then his website) and he did a fantastic job. He listened to what I needed done and went over his work with me when I picked up my Taylor. It plays great and I'll definitely go back! (Pricing is on the website).

Mark took a look at the guitar and did a quick rundown of what he thought it might need. I said yes to everything, including the fretwork. When I picked the guitar up, Mark said "It's like you have a whole new fretboard" but honestly, it's like I have a whole new guitar. The work included getting the action a bit lower up the neck, and now I can play anywhere on the neck without undue stress. Also, I have to say that the price was very fair -- for the amount of pleasure I'm getting out of the guitar now, the price was really decent. I've got a few more guitars that I think could play better, and Nuke's Guitar Setups is where they'll go when the time comes to get them to their best.

When we started we were complete novices to the guitar. Mark's love of the guitar, patience, vast experience and passion for teaching have made our lessons enjoyable and informative. Our improvement from lesson #1 until now has been dramatic. He teaches you songs that YOU want to learn while incorporating finger picking and strumming techniques. Mark manages to teach you a lot while making all his lessons digestable. I cannot recommend lessons with Mark highly enough! To top everything off, he's one of the nicest guys around. Do yourself a favor if you're interested in the guitar and give Mark a call.

Mark is such a great guitar teacher! He is teaching my wife and me (neither of us have ever played the guitar) the acoustic guitar. Mark is really patient, knowledgeable, understanding, and, most importantly,FUN! He really makes enjoyable lesson plans that are challenging but comprehensible. His lessons are never by-the-book boring - he works into the lessons songs WE want to learn. His love for his craft is obvious and infectious. We got back from our lesson about an hour ago, and my wife still has yet to put down the guitar! I have taken lessons from multiple teachers for music theory, trumpet, piano and violin and I have to say that Mark is THE BEST that I have ever had.
